Purchasing Agent
Heartwood Inc. is currently taking applications for a purchasing agent.  We are looking for a motivated individual that has 5+ years experience in purchasing and accounting.  Knowledge of cabinetry, woodworking, metalworking and manufacturing would be beneficial.

Applicants will need to demonstrate an ability to follow verbal and written instructions, and follow safety procedures.  The rate of pay is based on experience.

General duties include but are not limited to:

  • Research and purchase supplies and materials for facility.
  • Organize and account for all purchases and assure that they are available and on time.
  • Keep stock room organized with supplies.
  • Supervise and oversee personnel and equipment in your department.
  • Organize and assist with assembly of components for shipment.
  • Organize freight carriers and follow-up on receipt of products.

Essential skills include:

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office software, email etc.
  • Past experience with accounting software.  (We use Platinum accounting software)
  • Good math and communication skills.
  • Professional attitude and demeanor.

Experienced Woodworking Engineering Department Assistant
Must be able to read and interpret architectural drawings, specifications and related documents and produce shop drawings and cutlists for part drawings for programming, working in AutoCAD 2004

(2-D and 3-D) and 3-D Pytha software. The engineering department assistant will work with supervisors and with individuals in the shop to co-ordinate work and supply instructions or documentation as required. Also, a working knowledge of woodworking and metal fabrication techniques and materials generally utilized in millwork, casework, furniture and metalwork is preferred. As Heartwood manufactures all custom products from tables to building lobbies, the job will be highly varied and and involve creative problem solving. Fabrication and Welding Assistant

eartwood Inc. is currently taking applications for a fabrication and welding assistant in our metal shop. Applicants should be experienced with TIG and MIG welding, and demonstrate proficiency in TIG welding aluminum, steel and stainless steel. Blue print reading and measuring skills are required.

Essential skills include layout, and work holding jigs for welding. Experience in drilling, tapping, and sawing all types of metal will be required. Candidates with experience using conventional mills and lathes are desirable. Metal finishing skills such as cleaning, deburing, grinding, polishing, surface preparation and artistic etched finishes are also beneficial.
