Job description

Engineering department assistant

Primary duties:

  • Reading architectural drawings, specifications and bid documents to extract job related information.
  • Production of 2D and 3D shop drawings for submittal using AutoCAD 2004 and 3D Pytha Modeling software on pc platform based on Heartwood drawing standards.
  • Correcting redlined drawings and preparing shop drawings for production.
  • Production of part drawings for cnc programming by others.
  • Production of cultists for shop production.
  • Data entry for part lists, purchasing and bills of lading in Microsoft Office.
  • Production of assembly instructions for shop and installers.
  • Working with shop personnel to coordinate production techniques, document corrections made to work in progress.

Secondary duties:

  • Researching materials, methods – maintaining resource library and samples.
  • Assist in taking site dimensions.
  • Assist in development of new products.
  • Occasional phone or site guidance of installation crews.
  • Coordination with General Contractors, Installation Subcontractors.

Background requirement

Working history in the construction of cabinetry, millwork or furniture and/or metalworking background. SolidWorks, CNC, cutlist software, Visual Basic all helpful.

After 90 day probation:
(6) Paid holiday days: Memorial day, 4th of July, Labor day, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year’s day.Health insurance including denta, ¾ of employee’s premium paid by Heartwood.

After one year of employment:
Additional (5) days vacation per year.
